Since I should be keeping my mouth shut today, I'll just post pictures instead of offending people with my poorly-chosen words.

You're well on your way to being a potential manga fan. Tree branches against the sky! Flowers! A church! All you need now are feathers.

Hmm I'll get to work on that.

Uh oh. I hope I didn't make you think that you were a poor word chooser... Wow! if thats what Toronto looks like I will have to go more often!

Oh goodness no, though I can imagine why you'd think so. No, I'm managing to get myself into all kinds of hot water today. This is what happens when I don't have the attention span to actually work while at work.

Oh, and being a spazz today I failed to notice the second half of your comment. This is what Streetsville looks like, actually, rather than Toronto. Streetsville is a former tiny town that's been swallowed up by the bigger burbclave called Mississauga. It's extremely close to Toronto, though. So close that there's no discernable border.

This Streetsville intrigues me. I learn something new about the wonders of Ontario every day! Couldn't help but notice by stalking you and reading your info page that you went to Carleton. Oh Carleton... you will be my undoing!

Oh, do you have a Carleton connection too? I did my undergrad there. Many moons ago.

Yes, I'm there right now finishing up my Masters. On the days I don't want to blow up the campus, I really like it! However, I am thankful for their lefty tendencies (the academic programs. Certainly NOT the admin.) so I shouldn't complain... much.

In other news, I'm going to Wolfville for a conference in a few short weeks. Wait, I think that's in 2 weeks actually. Man time zips by, doesn't it. Eeek! Fortunately I'm just attending, not actually presenting, thank god.

ahhh! are you kidding me? Of all the places I've lived Wolfville holds a really special spot in my little heart. Closeted lesbo teen angst aside, some of the best years of my life! Have you been before? If not, I'll give you the scoop on the places to hit!

Never have been! But I don't know how much time I'll actually get to do anything fun; it's one of those librarian conferences everyone's always begging to be allowed to go to, you can imagine how fascinating and filled with adventure they are.

hehe. true. but the place is so small you could see lots of neat stuff just strolling through the main parts of town. beautiful old homes. my favourite places were the old graveyard on gaspereau (some of the oldest graves in NS I think), the dikes (nice to walk on... pretty views of the cape), and the duck pond (not particularly exciting, but pretty). all can be done easily in an hours walk if you are so inclined.

ummm... I would think that librarians have the most fun! more fun than being a professional judger (AKA social worker).

See, that last picture looks disconcertingly English. As does the first one...

Pretty pictures though. Clearly you're having spring. We, in the UK, we're having Winter, the extended DVD release with previously unseen footage.

:P

Streetsville was built in the 19th century, back when mock English was all the rage. And the sky was a bit menacing this morning. (I took that picture while waiting for the bus.)

The first two would make excellent desktop backgrounds, I feel. I like sky-shots :)

Wow, nice! I especially love the church picture, you have a really good composition in that one.

I discovered you somewhere and after perusing your not-terribly post on writing in 4 spaces, I decided to find you delightful. As a result I've added you; hope you do not mind but if you should, just fuss. :)

Well, I'm left with no choice but to try and learn more about you, in order to give you an appropriate prize. Any hints?

Oh I'm not terribly difficult to understand or please... let me see. I'll read anything that intrigues me or makes me laugh. I prefer animals to people. I enjoy cheese! And dark beer. How's that?

Also, like you, I'm writing a book & that reminds me of the post I originally responded to, which was full of great insight. I'm always interested in the writing processes & habits of other writers.

Damn. Nice pictures. (Some of them look like Boston, even though I know perfectly well they're not.)

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say that I wasn't actually all that offended, and if Peg hadn't gone "stomp!" I'd've kept going with that. (Though I'd've tried to be less annoying, if I had continued it. 'Cause I was. Being annoying.)

Is that a catlike rubbing noses, or a something-else rubbing noses. 'Cause if it's cats, then I am forced to butt my head against your shoulder companionably.

And yeah-- I guess we do. Pity it's not Peg's journal, she has an interesting bunch of people there.
